The US Navy and the War of 1812

The 41st Regiment of Foot Military Living History Group were pleased to present the ninth instalment in the popular 41st Regiment Lecture Series featuring Ed Bolla; sailor, historian and re-enactor.

Ed spoke about the U.S. Navy during the War of 1812, particularly its successes in ship to ship actions on the open seas against the Royal Navy.

The lecture was held at the Iron Duke House at the Wellington Brewery in Guelph, Ontario located at 950 Woodlawn Road West on Friday, May 8th, 2009.

The 41st Regiment of Foot MLHG is a group of individuals who re-create the 41st Regiment, as it was when it served in Canada during the War of 1812. The 41st Regiment of Foot MLHG re-enacts at War of 1812 events, supports historic sites and museums, does educational outreach programs and conducts historical research on an ongoing basis.
